A month, season, or year
Set a realistic challenge
Choose a deadline and replace prompts that your members cannot readily find. A 3 × 3 card asks for eight books when the center is free; use a larger grid only for a longer challenge.
Record completed reads
Members write a title beside each matched prompt or keep a separate reading log. Agree whether one book may fill several squares. Audiobooks and accessible formats can count under your chosen rules.
Swap recommendations
At the next meeting, invite members to share a book from a completed line. A full card can be a stretch goal; finishing a line is enough to join the conversation.
- Use one shared PDF card if you want everyone to follow the same challenge. Generate different cards when variety matters more.
- Choose prompts based on library availability so the challenge does not require buying books.
Before you print
Does a single book count twice?
That is a club rule to set before starting. One square per book produces more varied reading; allowing overlap makes a short challenge easier.
Is there a fixed reading list?
No. The cards contain prompts, not book recommendations. Each reader selects books that fit, and you can edit any prompt.
How do I save my cards as a PDF?
Choose A4 or US Letter, then use Download PDF to save your set. Print opens your browser’s print dialog instead. Your latest draft is saved in this browser when storage is available; download a PDF to keep a separate copy or send the cards to someone else.
