How to play
Camp organizers and outdoor groups
20–30 minutes
Set a small play area
Check campsite rules and mark the boundaries for the activity. Remove items that would lead players near water, cooking equipment, roads, or private pitches. Keep groups together as appropriate.
Observe, do not collect
Mark a square when you see or hear it from a permitted area. Leave plants, wildlife, and other campers’ equipment untouched. Tell a partner what you noticed instead of bringing anything back.
Compare discoveries
Return at the agreed time. Players show a row, column, or diagonal and describe their sightings. If conditions change, stop early and compare the squares already found.
- Download the PDF before leaving coverage. Paper cards work offline.
- For wet weather, use the camping vocabulary as a called-word game indoors with the optional item list.
Before you print
Must players find every item?
No. A line is enough, and the organizer can set a simple time limit instead. Replace items that are absent from your campsite before printing.
Can sounds count as a match?
Yes, when the prompt explicitly names a sound, such as bird call. Agree on that rule before setting out.
How do I save my cards as a PDF?
Choose A4 or US Letter, then use Download PDF to save your set. Print opens your browser’s print dialog instead. Your latest draft is saved in this browser when storage is available; download a PDF to keep a separate copy or send the cards to someone else.
